In more recent years the BDO have utilised the venue for the Southern County finals as well as it seeing various exhibition tournaments.

The inaugural BDO World Masters took place in 1974, with a women’s event being added the calendar eight years later. Michael van Gerwen, Eric Bristow and Phil Taylor are former champions of the prestigious event, while ‘Big Dog’ Adam Smith-Neale is the current holder.

In a return to the former format, we will also see the full field of throwers take their place on the floor with no seeds advancing to the finals. Initial stages will take place at Grays’ Civic Hall before the top 32 compete for the prestigious title of World Master at the Circus Tavern.

Tickets for the event are due to be released on the 2nd August.
