Premier League darts returns this Monday (5th April) with ten of the darting elite set to descent on Milton Keynes for the first five days' action in this year's event. The Premier League is played over eighteen weeks with players laying each other twice throughout the event. Two points are awarded for a win, with one for a draw.
The bottom two players after nine weeks will be 'relegated' and not return to action for the following nights as the remaining eight players battle it out for the top four spots and a play-off place. Usually staged at the O2 Arena in London, the play-offs will decide the eventual winner of the 2021 Unibet Premier League.
Now world number two, Michael van Gerwen currently sits in top position in the betting order with reigning World Champion Gerwyn Price not far behind in second. Peter Wright is third, whilst recent Masters champion and the form player of the past few months has been cut to 12/1 with most bookies.
Reigning champion Glen Durrant is an outsider for this year's event having endured a torrid few months on tour as he comes in at around 25/1. With ten World Championships and countless other major accolades between them, it is bound to be an interesting week in the world of darts.
