The BDO World Masters returns later this month as the BDO’s elite battle it out to be crowned World Master at the Circus Tavern in Purfleet. 32 male competitors and eight women will come through the previous days qualification to take to the television stage on the evening for round one.
Reigning champion Adam Smith-Neale will be looking to retain his title but will again have to come through the tough opening rounds in order to reach the business end of the tournament. Elsewhere, the Dutch are always dangerous with the likes of Wesley Harms, Richard Veenstra and British Classic winner Dennie Olde Kalter likely to be the big names in the field.
With only eight players making the stage in the women’s competition it will be a battle to see who is crowned the 2020 World Master. Recent World Trophy champion and three-time former World Championship winner Lisa Ashton is likely to go in as favourite, shortly followed by Japan’s Mikuru Suzuki.
The likes of Fallon Sherrock and Anastasia Dobromyslova have been in excellent form of late, so will fancy their chances of capturing the gold come Sunday evening. The boys and girls finals will also take place on the famous Circus Tavern stage on the Sunday, with the elite under 18 talents looking to secure big victories as they progress towards the senior ranks in the BDO.
The tournament will be broadcasted on Eurosport from 25th-27th October, with some territories able to receive the coverage on the BDO YouTube channel.
